The US5781 is a unipolar hall effect switch IC fabricated from mixed signal CMOS technology and incorporates advanced chopper stabilization techniques to provide accurate and stable magnetic switch points. There are many applications for this device and the design, specifications and performance have been optimized for solid state switche applications.
In the UA package, the output transistor will be switched ON in the presence of a sufficiently strong South-pole magnetic field facing the marked side of the package. The output transistor will be switched OFF in the presence of a weaker South-pole magnetic field and remain off with a weaker field.
The SO package is magnetically reversed from the UA package, therefore the output transistor will be switched ON in the presence of a sufficiently strong North-pole magnetic field facing the marked side of the package. Similarly, the output will be switched OFF in the presence of a weaker North-pole magnetic field and remain off with a weaker field.
For an equivalent SO package of the south-pole active UA device, refer to the US5782.
