Tunnelling Magneto Resistive Switch Sensors from MDT 

Multi Dimension Technology, a leading supplier of magnetic sensors specialising in Tunnelling Magneto Resistance (TMR) technology, has announced the world's first TMR magnetic switch sensors for use in battery-powered smart flow meters, including water flow meters, heat flow meters and gas flow meters.

Empowered by MDT's TMR technology, the new magnetic switch sensors are superior choices for high performance industrial applications, including proximity switches, speed sensors, and position sensors. TMR technology is proven as a high performance, power efficient, cost effective and dependable technology for the magnetic disk drive industry. MDT is the first volume supplier that offers all the advantages of TMR technology in multiple product series, including TMR magnetic switch sensors, TMR magnetic field sensors, and TMR magnetic angle sensors.

The MMS103H and MMS105H magnetic switch sensors feature high frequency response up to 100kHz, and their supply current can be as low as 5 microamperes. Unlike similar products that must employ power cycling or sleeping modes to reduce power, MDT's magnetic switch sensors exhibit low power consumption during continuous operation.
